I’ll let the picture speak for itself.

I will say that

  • I’m a little embarrassed to show a picture of my bathroom.
  • By hanging clothes we have saved money and extended the lives of our clothing.
  • I currently don’t hang up socks, children’s clothes or underwear.

We paid a lot more for drying when we had to go to  the laundromat in our last apartment. I wish I had seen this nifty indoor clothesline that Apartment Therapy built.

Hanging my clothes works for me. See what others are saying at We Are That Family’s Work for Me Wednesday.

I use the wooden drying racks all the time to “finish” drying my towels and socks. I use the dryer for 20-30 min, then let them finish air drying. That keeps them soft, but saves money.

Oh I love my shower rod also! At night, I hang the items that need to be dried and then close the door.

The heat coming out of the vent all night leaves them nice and toasty in the morning!

You’re totally right: it really increases the longevity of clothes. The less clothes are exposed to heat, the longer they’ll last!

Using drying racks for socks, and probably children’s clothes is a great idea.

I think the shower is a perfect place to let stuff drip dry, because who cares if it drips! Thanks for sharing this tip.

Why don’t you try drying up your wet clothes behind your refrigerator? But be careful because you might be electrocuted. This is very effective.

There are a few things that I found that work best. I like to use drying racks. The kind you can get at walmart that are made of wood and fold up so you can put them in the closet.

I have also hung things from the shower curtain rod numerous times.

One of the best ideas is to have little hooks either on the door or that go over the top of the door. You can then put hangers on these hooks and then dry clothes more efficiently.

In case you have a big cabinet, you should divide it into half and make the other half as place where to hung your things.
